We take on legal work operationally and with lawyer accountability, so your team can decide faster, meet deadlines reliably and free up capacity for strategic topics.
Lawyer-accountable
Review and sign-off by lawyers in our firm, with professional liability and confidentiality
Ready to use
Results go into the business as they are, without further legal reworking
No vacancy gap
Cover is in place for holiday, illness and staff changes
Documented and tracked
Every deadline and every matter has a status, an owner and a history
A law firm advises; an internal hire takes time. We combine lawyer accountability with operational delivery and our own technology: we review, design, process and run your legal workflows as an extension of your team, or under full responsibility.
Typical triggers: Usually one event tips the balance: a vacancy, an audit, a new reporting topic, or a law-firm budget that has exceeded its limits.
The team is tied up in routine reviews and never reaches strategic topics
A role is vacant or needs to be bridged
New regulation has to be implemented without adding headcount
Legal work sits scattered across systems, inboxes and folders
Services in detail
Four subject areas from one provider
Each subject area can be commissioned on its own and brings the systems that belong with it: the reporting office in the compliance field, the training portal wherever evidence is required. You can extend at any time; contracts, deadlines and documents already captured continue to be used.
Legal
Your contracts and legal questions run on a fixed review path: who reviews what, in what depth and in what time. We handle the ongoing volume and represent you externally; commercial decisions stay with you. For peaks and vacancies we provide extra capacity without you having to add headcount.
What we handle
Draft, review and negotiate contracts, from NDAs to international framework agreements
Terms and conditions, purchasing and supply terms, including for business models that need explanation
Employment, corporate and trade mark law: employment contracts and terminations, shareholder resolutions, trade mark filing and monitoring
IT and technology law: SaaS, licence and outsourcing contracts, use of AI in the business
Receivables and liability cases, from dunning through settlement to enforcement
Legal monitoring: statutory changes and proposals, statements of intent, relevant news and case law, prepared with recommended action
We build the rulebook and run it: policies, controls, evidence. The role of compliance officer is held by a lawyer in our firm, bound by professional confidentiality. That includes the two channels that make a system work day to day: a reporting office that makes reports reachable, and training that takes the rules into the organisation.
What we handle
A compliance management system in line with IDW PS 980 and ISO 37301, from set-up through to audit support
Risk analyses, a control plan and reporting to management and supervisory bodies
Policies, approval paths and training duties by role, instead of one handbook for everyone
Prevention of money laundering, fraud and corruption, including internal investigations
Business-partner monitoring under the German Supply Chain Act (LkSG), export control and sanctions-list screening
Digital duties: the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG), the Digital Services Act, German digital bookkeeping principles (GoBD) and retention periods
anonymous or named, around the clock via the portal

within three months, with a documented report
Deadlines and processing status are recorded in the system and can be evidenced at any time.

Training on compliance duties
A rulebook only works when employees know it and attendance can be evidenced. We assign mandatory training by role: purchasing and sales receive anti-corruption and competition law, accounting receives anti-money-laundering, everyone receives the code of conduct and the path to the reporting office.
Modules on the code of conduct, corruption, competition law, money laundering and HinSchG
Assignment by role and legal entity, instead of one mandatory date for everyone
Making the reporting office known as part of the training, as HinSchG requires
Attendance status and certificates as control evidence in compliance reporting
Example from the portal: the course “Using AI safely”
We provide the external data protection officer and run data protection management day to day: keep records current, answer requests on time, assess and report incidents. For groups we take on the function across several companies and countries, to a single standard.
What we handle
External data protection officer, including appointment, notification and annual report
Record of processing activities, erasure concept and technical and organisational measures
Impact assessments, for example for AI use, video surveillance or employee data
Review, negotiate and document processing agreements and third-country transfers
Data-subject requests, data breaches and communication with supervisory authorities
Data protection audits at sites and service providers, with a prioritised action plan
Training portal
Data protection training you can evidence
Article 39 GDPR makes training employees a duty of the data protection officer. In a serious case the supervisory authority will ask for the evidence. We roll out training across several companies and document who completed it and when.
Modules on GDPR basics, data-subject requests, data breaches and home working
A dedicated module on AI use, because that is where most data protection questions arise
A completion certificate as evidence, including towards the supervisory authority
Supporting material for your teams, such as a password guide or erasure periods
Example from the portal: the module on using AI safely
We first establish what actually applies to you, then build the data collection that will still support the report in the following year. The duties rarely sit only with the sustainability team: purchasing, sales and production supply the data and need clear instructions to do so.
What we handle
An ESG strategy with measurable targets instead of statements of intent
Supply chain under the German Supply Chain Act (LkSG) and CSDDD: risk analysis, policy statement, preventive measures
Complaints procedure under the German Supply Chain Act (LkSG), technically via the same reporting office as in the compliance field
Assess whether the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) applies and build the required evidence
Data collection, monitoring and recurring reporting with fixed responsibilities
Training portal
Training for the teams that supply the data
ESG duties rarely fail at the report; they fail at the data from purchasing, sales and production. We train the teams involved as a specialist module tailored to your processes, so it is clear which information is needed and at what quality.
Supply-chain duties for purchasing: spot risks, raise them with suppliers, document measures
Data quality for CSRD reporting, using the metrics from your materiality assessment
Making the complaints procedure under the German Supply Chain Act (LkSG) known, as the law requires
A certificate as evidence of the preventive measure towards auditors and BAFA (the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control)
Example from the portal: how a specialist module is built
It is not company size that decides, but which legal tasks you want to hand over. The three models sit side by side and often run in parallel: a project here, a process taken on permanently there. You can start at any scale, and move between models at any time.
Recurring work transfers to us in full: contract review against a fixed volume, data protection management, or the role of compliance or data protection officer.
Take on the function
Function and team sit with us
We also take on your people: the tasks, processes and accountability of an entire legal function transfer to us – including your lawyers. As an interim arrangement we can also fill a vacancy for a defined period.
How we work
How a legal process becomes one we can stand behind
Before the first contract review comes the question of who reviews what, and in what depth. These four steps take you from today’s review paths to a process we can own.
01
Process review
We examine contract types, review paths, deadlines and responsibilities, and assess effort, cycle times and liability risk.
02
Design
We define review standards, escalation paths and approval logic, and turn your legal standards into clear rules.
03
Implementation & development
The rules become CLAIR playbooks, templates and interfaces. We take on the work, with lawyer accountability.
04
Operation & optimisation
We report on volumes, cycle times and risks, and adjust playbooks as the law and case law change.
Technology in the background
Legal processes run on CLAIR
Contracts, matters, policies and evidence sit in one place instead of scattered files. AI suggestions carry confidence scores and are reviewed and owned by our lawyers.
Modules in use: Matter Management · Contract Management · Litigation Management · Compliance Management · Data protection management · Entity Management · Whistleblowing system · E-Learning
No. Most mandates start with the area that is under pressure now, often data protection or an acute contract volume. When a further area is added later, it uses the same contracts, deadlines and evidence.
Who carries legal responsibility?
The work is done by lawyers in our firm, with professional liability and a duty of confidentiality.
How is billing structured?
Usually as a monthly retainer based on scope and volume; one-off work is billed at a fixed price. We agree hourly rates only if you ask for them.
What happens to our existing law firm?
We do not necessarily replace it. Often we take on the ongoing volume and process ownership, while specialist mandates stay with your firm.
Put legal processes in capable hands
In an initial conversation we show you which tasks can transfer and what that means for your team.
