The situation
Several companies in a media group process personal data in editorial, digital, sales and administrative processes. Different companies and contacts needed a uniform data protection organisation with clear accountability.
Our approach
We started the group mandate with a structured trial phase and then took on the role of external group data protection officer for the companies included. A clearly delimited mandate scope, central contacts and technology-supported case handling combine legal advice, operational support and traceable documentation.
The result
Central accountability
The companies included use a shared external data protection officer.
Clear demarcation
Mandate scope, responsibilities and excluded entities are defined transparently.
Scalable support
Requests, incidents and evidence are handled in a structured way across the group.
How we implemented the case
- 01
Define the group
Record companies, contacts and mandate scope as binding.
- 02
Run the trial phase
Validate collaboration, processes and communication paths in operational use.
- 03
Take on the data protection officer (DSB) function
Implement the appointment and ongoing advice for the companies included.
- 04
Steer operations
Coordinate requests, incidents, evidence and open measures centrally.
