BPO: taking on the staff as well as the tasks

When times get tougher, companies focus on their core competencies and activities. Everything else is open to question. As a law firm specialising in legal outsourcing, we are seeing this first-hand. We take on specific legal tasks for our clients, such as data protection or contract negotiations. What is new is that we are increasingly being asked whether we would take on the staff along with the tasks. Would we? Of course.

This takes Clarius.Legal to a new level of business process outsourcing (BPO). It means outsourcing particular business processes to external service providers so that the company can focus on its own core activities. Many firms have delegated their IT support for years, while payroll and logistics are also frequently outsourced. And Clarius.Legal is successfully demonstrating how legal outsourcing can likewise increase corporate efficiency.

Saving our clients time and money

Efficiency is important because the German economy is currently in a prolonged downturn. In 2023, price-adjusted gross domestic product fell by 0.3 per cent, and it is stagnating this year too. The ifo Institute, for example, does not forecast cautious growth of 0.9 and 1.5 per cent respectively until the following two years. Companies are acting with corresponding caution and looking for ways to reduce their costs. This is where Clarius.Legal comes in – along with the positive experiences companies have had with our expertise:

Routine tasks such as reviewing NDAs or contracts can be outsourced.

We can be brought in temporarily to absorb workload peaks.

And we step in as interim staff, for example to provide parental leave cover or support specific projects.

Clarius.Legal uses specialised software tools to handle routine and regulatory tasks in as standardised a manner as possible. This use of “legal technology” saves time and money – to the benefit of our clients.

The staff come with the tasks

Thanks to these positive experiences with Clarius.Legal, we are now also the point of contact for companies planning more than the outsourcing of legal tasks. Increasingly, clients are asking us to take on tasks together with the associated staff. The benefits for the client are clear:

The company can focus more strongly on its core business, including in relation to the work performed by its own staff.

It requires fewer specialist employees in-house, enabling it to reduce personnel costs.

As a BPO service provider, Clarius.Legal increases the efficiency of legal processes while also ensuring compliance with all standards.

The challenge for Clarius.Legal is to train the new employees so that they too can use legal technology software efficiently. It is a challenge we are happy to accept, particularly as we see how visibly our new colleagues flourish when they are able to work more productively. Achieving valid results efficiently and cost-effectively is and remains Clarius.Legal’s standard.

Focusing on what really matters

“Outsource the work that keeps you from working”: why should highly trained and correspondingly well-paid specialists struggle with standard tasks that can easily be outsourced? Legal outsourcing is an attractive option for companies seeking to deploy their legal department as efficiently as possible. Clarius.Legal takes on the remaining tasks – and, if requested, the associated staff too.
