Clarius Group launches AI platform ‘Clair’

The Clarius Group, one of Germany’s leading independent managed services providers for legal, compliance and finance operations, is launching its newly developed AI platform, ‘Clair’. The technology combines legal advice, process automation, AI agents and structured data models within a unified infrastructure. It thus enables the complete management of legal processes within a single environment.

Lawyers remain involved at all times, if they so wish. They continue to bear legal responsibility and liability should an audit take place. Clients can flexibly configure the level of automation and the use of artificial intelligence, and decide for themselves to what extent processes are automated, monitored or handled entirely by experts.

The automation of standardised tasks frees up time for complex legal assessments and liability issues; in this regard, human expertise remains a key component of the service.

The new AI platform enables legal departments to organise all their internal processes whilst accessing advisory services. This flexible approach, which gives users the freedom to make their own decisions, allows these services to be delivered in an even smarter, more efficient and more personalised way – perfectly complemented by the specialist knowledge of Clarius’ experts. The Clarius Group thus underlines its position as one of the key drivers of innovation in legal consulting and legal tech.

On 21 April 2026, CTO Josef Blank-Beck and Managing Director Dr Arnt Glienke, LL.M., officially unveiled Clair during a livestream and used specific real-world examples to demonstrate how Clair can be used.

Also in attendance was Dr Martin Ströder, Head of the Legal Market Division at JUVE-Verlag, who spoke about how AI is transforming the legal, finance and compliance sectors, where there is particular pressure to improve efficiency, and what limitations currently remain.

Dr. Georg Berger, CEO der Clarius Group: “The technological revolution in legal consultancy is in full swing. The providers who successfully combine AI with human expertise will be the ones to succeed. That is why we have developed our new platform with a consistent ‘AI first’ approach, whilst continuing to rely on the specialist knowledge of our lawyers and consultants. Our clients decide for themselves how much automation they wish to use. And they benefit from clearly calculable costs. ‘Clair’ represents a new generation of legal advice. With this new technology, we are excellently positioned to continue the growth trajectory of recent years.”

With the launch of “Clair”, the Clarius Group is also expanding its pricing model: in future, clients will be able to bill for services not only on a time-based or headcount basis, but also on a results-based basis. Fixed-price contracts and fixed service fees ensure greater planning certainty and transparency. This is made possible by the platform’s high level of automation.

The technology covers all key functions of a legal department – from data protection and health and safety to contract and claims management, right through to litigation. ‘Clair’ centrally manages all legal processes – from data capture and processing to analysis. The platform automatically reads and structures contracts, extracts relevant information and derives tasks and recommendations for action from this. A central dashboard provides transparency regarding processes and processing statuses.

By integrating AI-based agents and chatbots, “Clair” enables services to be delivered more quickly and with greater precision. AI agents operate as equal users, supervised by Clarius experts. The fact that the platform has been developed in-house also ensures a high level of data security.
Initially, the AI platform will be deployed in the legal consulting sector. In a next step, “Clair” will also be extended to finance operations processes.
